SCHiM is a 3D platform game developed by Ewoud van der Werf and Nils Slijkerman and published by Extra Nice. The game will be released on 18 July 2024 on Steam, itch.io, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
We had the opportunity to play the closed extended demo of SCHiM.
The main character of the game is a schim, the soul of an object or person. A schim lives in the shadows and is bound to its person or object, but when a schim loses its person, what happens?
The game begins with the schim and its young owner. As the schim, we follow him wherever he goes. We see how he falls in love and how he loses his love. From childhood to adulthood. But one day something goes awry and the bond between the Schim and his master is broken.
Now the little creature is alone and must find his human to reconnect with his shadow and spend the rest of his life with him.
SCHiM is a 3D platformer where you control a schim, a small creature that resembles a frog. Like a modern day Frogger, you have to jump from one shadow to another. But it’s not just about jumping, you have to find the right path to complete your journey and interact with objects.
The game has addictive gameplay and a beautiful and interesting monochrome style. Each level tells a different story and each has a different colour.
We like it so much that we recommend adding it to your wishlist and playing the public demo to have your own personal preview of this minimalist title.
