Ratalaika Games, who has just published Murder is Game Over on consoles, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Evil Diary, a 2D action shoot ‘em up game, on November 24, 2023.
Players will face off against numerous grotesque enemies and fight for survival. This top-down action shooter will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Evil Diary is set in an alternate 1997 where aliens attacked the planet three years ago, turning New York City into ruins and transforming people and animals into bloodthirsty creatures. Players take on the role of Eve, one of the few survivors, as she battles monsters and tries to escape the city to reach a secure zone.
Eve is a normal young woman who has been through extraordinary circumstances and is now alone, armed with a handgun and a laser sword looted from an alien’s body. Players guide her through eight days of action-packed gameplay, including different types of levels where they must kill monsters, survive against them, and ride a motorcycle to safety.
Throughout the game, Eve writes in her diary, giving players a more intimate view of her thoughts. The game is a solitary journey, with no other characters besides the monsters, providing ever-changing challenges for players to overcome.
