Bananitro is a 2D runner game developed by Inventario and published by Bad Minions & Little Giant.
The game will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Microsoft Store for PC. Switch and PlayStation ports will be available in the future. A Steam version has been available since January 2025.
We’ve had the opportunity to play the Xbox Series version.
Run, run, run!
Bananitro’s gameplay is simple. You must run as fast as possible to complete each level in the shortest time possible.
You’ll run on paths with only two objectives: collect bananas to charge the nitro bar and avoid obstacles.

We will tackle increasingly complicated routes aboard different vehicles, bikes, and skateboards, taking advantage of our character’s ability to do backflips in the air, which also give us a speed boost.
Each of the three scenarios consists of ten levels and gradually introduces variability. For instance, in the final scenario with snow, penguins throw snowballs at you, making the levels more challenging.

Overall, Bananitro does not take very long to complete, as it can be finished in two hours or less. However, the challenge comes from repeating the levels to achieve the fastest time.

Since the camera automatically moves to follow the character, the game interface sometimes overlaps the screen, making it difficult to see obstacles in time. Additionally, the soundtrack is monotonous, especially when you have to repeat a level several times.
Overall, the game provides a couple of hours of fun, and even more if you want to try to achieve the best time.
