Salt and Sacrifice from Ska Studios and Devoured Studios will launch on Nintendo Switch and Steam on November 7, 2023. The game is also available on PlayStation 4 and 5 and Epic Games Store.
In the Altarstone Kingdom, Corrupted Mages are causing chaos with their terrifying elemental powers. However, a group of fighters known as Marked Inquisitors, who have been condemned and tasked with hunting down these Mages as a form of penance, rise up as unexpected heroes. Players can choose from eight different character classes to create a build that suits their preferred combat style. They can wield greatswords, perform agile dual-bladed strikes, or use sorcery while searching for clues to locate powerful enemies. By defeating Corrupted Mages, players can obtain their otherworldly materials to craft new weapons and armor sets.
Players can embark on their journey through the Altarstone Kingdom alone or team up with another Marked Inquisitor for cooperative hunting, thanks to the new cross-play support. They can join various factions that cater to both PvE and PvP engagements, such as the Shroud Alliance, a group focused on invading and assassinating other Inquisitors for personal gain. The game offers an interconnected and detailed world filled with dangerous enemies and hidden secrets, providing a challenging action RPG experience whether played solo or in multiplayer.
On November 7, players can also enjoy a free update called “The Traitor’s Tomb” that expands the game with new content. They can explore The Heart of Altarstone, a sprawling dungeon that increases the size of the game’s map by 20%. This update delves into the buried secrets of the Marked Inquisition, introducing intriguing NPCs, challenging trials against five new bosses, and a plethora of additional armor sets and weapons, including the powerful Lawbringer whip-sword. Additionally, the update introduces a new arena mode, allowing Inquisitors to test their skills in 6-player free-for-all PvP matches.
