Thunderful are delighted to announce that two of their titles have been nominated for three awards at the Golden Joysticks, due to take place on November 10th. Planet of Lana has been nominated for Xbox Game of the Year and Viewfinder has been nominated for Best Visual Design and Best Indie Game. Voting for the awards is now open.
Described by Gamespot as “one of the best puzzle games you can play today” and by Rock Paper Shotgun as “one of the best puzzle games of 2023”, Viewfinder is a first-person puzzle adventure from Sad Owl Studios with a unique reality-shaping mechanic that allows you to place photographs and other images in the game’s world and have them become a part of the environment. The game is available on PC and PlayStation 5.
Released on Xbox and PC earlier this year, Planet of Lana is a cinematic puzzle adventure praised by Eurogamer for creating a “sense of having been in a special place”. Based around a companion mechanic that requires protagonist Lana and her cat-like companion Mui to work together to solve puzzles, sneak past enemies and overcome obstacles, the game has won praise for its stunning aesthetic, rousing soundtrack and compelling gameplay.
“We would like to congratulate our partners Sad Owl Studios and Wishfully Studios on their well-deserved nominations for the Golden Joysticks,” said Thunderful’s Chief Games Officer, Agostino Simonetta. “They’ve been a pleasure to work with and their quality titles are emblematic of the kind of quality experiences that Thunderful wants to bring to the gaming community.”
